October

Start of the year. We played Buzz, reviewed the teaser problems I put on my flyer and talked about expectations.

Warmed up with an equivalent fraction puzzle and game of 24 cards.  Then we worked on a homemade progressive worksheet on the distributive property.

Fold and Cut activity!  (This was the most popular activity of the year)

Pi Day activities. Buffon's needle etc.

Game day. (checker stacks)

Snap cube hotels.

May

Square root algorithm.  Proof of irrationality of square root of 2.

Human chair checkers. Coordinate connect the dot. 

Math Counts number theory questions, battleship puzzle, coordinate connect the dot.

June

Ulam's Spiral and modular circle art.

Hinged polygon transformations.
